Considered genetic twin of the Italian Primitivo grape, the Zinfandel grape is traced to Croatia. Today it is widely grown in California, in the USA.
Semi-sweet wine. Flavours vary and can go from light and fruity to more complex and rich. It has a blackberry aroma with hints of black pepper, cinnamon and licorice.
Full-flavoured spicy dishes. Zinfandel is also good with foods with high fat content such as beef, pork and sausage, as well as with stewed or grilled meat. Also, enjoy with oregano, basil or mild tomato sauces.
