Not a commonly known wine, the Malbec grape is dark and delicious with plantations all over the world. The origins of the name are not clear, but the growing popularity certainly is.
Originally from Bordeaux, now grown mainly in Argentina, Chile and the USA.
Usually medium or full-bodied in taste, with rustic hints of plum, blackberry and often a woody, vanilla aroma.
Roasted or grilled meat dishes, especially spicy ones like Mexican, Indian, or hotter Italian recipes.
