How long does it take to brew coffee?
It takes approximately 9 minutes to brew a full tank of water.
What is the maximum level lid for?
Do not go pass or remove the maximum level lid. This is the maximum water level of which coffee will fit in the carafe. Any more water than indicated will overflow the carafe.
Why is the Coffee Maker only brewing water?
Add the desired amount of coffee to the filter.
Why is my Coffee Maker brewing slower than it used to?
If red LED light is blinking, it is time to clean the Coffee Maker as described in the “cleaning” section.
Why is my Coffee Maker leaking from the bottom?
• Make sure the filter is properly in position and that the brew basket is fully closed.
• Ensure that the removable water reservoir is properly installed.
• Avoid overfilling the water reservoir. Fill the reservoir to the bottom of the insert located inside the reservoir.
• If the Coffee Maker still doesn’t work, it may require a service. Contact a VillaWare® brand authorised service centre
What can I do about my coffee filter collapsing and causing an overflow?
A permanent filter will solve this problem, but when using a paper filter, there might be times when the filter will collapse and may cause an overflow. If the filter is collapsing in your coffee brewer, first make sure you are using the correct size and shape filter in the unit:
Cone Filters: (Paper or Permanent)
# 4 cone filter - 8, 10, or 12 cup coffeemaker
If you are using the correct size, try the following:
• Ensure the brew basket is placed correctly in the brew chamber.
• Ensure the carafe is placed correctly on the plate.
• Ensure the lid is secure on the carafe.
• Remove the filter and discard grounds. Replace a paper filter or rinse the permanent filter. Begin brewing cycle again. If using paper filter, wet the sides of the filter before adding the coffee and sticking them to the sides of the filter basket.
• Turn off and unplug the unit. Allow to cool. Wipe off the unit.
What type of filter can I use for my Coffee Maker?
Each coffee maker uses a particular style cone filter. Below is your specific VillaWare® Coffee Maker cup size.

What would cause my Coffee Maker to overflow?
• If the decanter is removed for more than 30 seconds while the unit is brewing, it may cause the Coffee Maker to overflow. Make sure the decanter is replaced promptly after removing.
• The decanter may not have been properly positioned under the brew basket. Be sure the decanter is centred directly under the brew basket.
• Using too much coffee grounds may cause the Coffee Maker to overflow.
• The filter may have become folded over. Make sure the filter is properly centred in the brew basket. Try wetting the edges to prevent filter collapse.
• Using coffee that is too finely ground can sometimes result in overflow. Use only coffee that is ground for automatic drip coffeemakers.
How can I stop my decanter dribbling when I pour with it?
• Try pouring the coffee more slowly.
• Check the spout on the thermo decanter is not misshapen. If it is, contact a VillaWare® brand authorised service centre for replacement.
Why doesn't my coffee stay warm?
There may be several reasons for coffee not to stay warm:
• The unit has an automatic shut-off feature. This is a safety feature that would automatically shut off your Coffee Maker after 2 or 4 hours. Make sure that the unit hasn't been running longer than this time.
• The unit may require cleaning to remove mineral deposits that build up over time and cause coffee to brew cooler than normal.
• Make sure the thermal decanter is clean and that the lid is kept closed. The thermal decanter should keep coffee warm for 2 to 4 hours after brewing.
Why might my coffee taste bad?
The coffee may taste bad due to the following reasons:
• The coffee grounds you are using are not recommended for automatic drip coffeemakers.
• The ground coffee-to-water ratio is not correct.
• Age of coffee beans affects its taste. Old coffee may taste stale. The coffee will taste the best if you use fresh beans.
• Quality of coffee beans and type of water you use will have an impact on the coffee taste.
• If red LED light is blinking, it is time to clean your Coffee Maker as described in the “How do I clean the Coffee Maker” section.
I’m finding grounds in my coffee, what should I do?
• Seat filter properly within the brew basket.
• Replace any paper filters.
